This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Take ownership of the vision and roadmap for the Data Platform, Governance, and Architecture teams, aligning priorities with business and product objectives.
• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of a scalable, secure, and efficient data platform that accommodates both transactional and analytical workloads.
• Collaborate with leaders from Platform, AI, and Product Engineering to ensure that the data architecture meets both current and future business needs.
• Convert complex organizational and technical trade-offs into clear decisions with quantifiable business impact.
• Develop, mentor, and oversee a high-performing team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and architects.
• Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability grounded in an Engineering First Mindset.
• Set clear career development paths, performance expectations, and coaching practices within the team.
• Lead talent acquisition and onboarding efforts to scale team capabilities in alignment with platform ambitions.
• Define and implement data governance policies that ensure accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and domain teams to ensure compliance with GDPR, LGPD, and CCPA regulations.
• Ensure that governance frameworks are operationalized through tooling, automation, and team practices, rather than merely documented.
• Guide the design of a flexible, future-proof data architecture that accommodates complex business models and analytical workloads.
• Provide technical oversight across ingestion, processing, curation, and serving layers without being the one to implement them.
• Act as the organizational link between strategic architectural decisions and their execution by both staff and senior engineers.
• Function as a key leader across Data, Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure domains, influencing roadmaps, priorities, and organizational decisions.
• Represent the Data organization in company-wide initiatives focused on modernization, AI enablement, and platform evolution.
• Foster a culture of experimentation and learning, staying updated on industry trends to keep Blip's data capabilities at the forefront.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or related fields, including at least 3 years in a people management or team leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and scaling data teams within platform, governance, or architecture domains.
• Proven track record of achieving measurable outcomes in reliability, data quality, cost optimization, or engineering productivity through effective organizational execution.
• Experience in driving or participating in large-scale data platform modernization projects.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical directives.
• Deep understanding of modern data platform technologies and cloud environments, especially GCP; familiarity with Azure and/or AWS is also beneficial.
• Solid knowledge of distributed data systems, data pipelines, and ELT/ETL methodologies.
• Proficient in SQL and data modeling, focusing on scalable analytical solutions.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality and observability practices, and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD practices, and developer experience patterns within data environments.
