• Lead the ideation, proactive sourcing, and prioritization of acquisition and partnership opportunities in collaboration with the VP.
• Develop and sustain market maps along with an actionable M&A pipeline across key verticals and product adjacencies.
• Take ownership of target list creation and oversee pipeline tracking from start to finish.
• Create outreach materials and initiate proactive engagement for outbound opportunities.
• Evaluate opportunities presented by bankers, founders, and private equity sponsors.
• Manage relationships with bankers and intermediaries at a working level.
• Facilitate and lead meetings with potential acquisition targets.
• Generate regular updates on the pipeline, report on deal statuses, and summarize market intelligence for leadership and the board.
• Assist in conducting thorough internal subject matter expert and customer diligence to assess potential acquisition or partnership opportunities.
• Analyze build, buy, or partner strategies, considering strategic fit, product alignment, and financial implications of targets.
• Work collaboratively across functions including product, engineering, legal, finance, executive leadership, and the board to assess and advance deals.
• Develop financial models, commercial cases, and decision-making frameworks for key stakeholders.
• Prepare and deliver deal materials to executive leadership and the board.
• Assist in transaction execution and deal structuring, managing timelines, coordinating processes, interacting with advisors, and overseeing approval workflows.
• Support closing activities and post-close integration transition workstreams.
• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Approximately 5 years of progressive experience in private equity, corporate development, venture capital/growth equity, investment banking, or management consulting with a focus on transactions and diligence.
• Proven experience in sourcing, deal origination, and conducting commercial and financial diligence.
• Preference for candidates with experience in PE-backed environments and software sectors.
• Enthusiastic about proactive sourcing and outreach, rather than solely reactive deal work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; extensive experience in financial modeling is essential.
• Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
• Proven self-starter capable of managing multiple large-scale projects and executing deals concurrently in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Sound business judgment with the ability to function effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are clear, concise, and persuasive.
• Outstanding executive presence, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to partner with and influence senior management and executive stakeholders.
