Senior Manager, BESS Deployment Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Directs the comprehensive execution of DOE California Water Utilities and EPC energy/storage projects, leading cross-functional teams (engineering, contractors, permitting, utilities) from the development phase through to commissioning and transition to service.

• Acts as the main point of contact for clients, managing project reporting, documentation (including minutes and action logs), and commercial coordination with water utility stakeholders and DOE requirements.

• Creates and oversees scopes of work, subcontractor agreements, change orders, and project financials, ensuring precision in budgeting, accounting, and cost performance.

• Manages project scheduling and execution, keeping master and short-term schedules, monitoring delays, and ensuring that delivery meets approved specifications, timelines, and budgets.

• Offers leadership and guidance to project teams and field staff, fostering safety, operational standards, and effective collaboration among subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

• Guarantees compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations while enhancing project performance, customer satisfaction, and a smooth transition to operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.

• 7 years of experience in project management with P&L accountability.

• Over 3 years of experience as a project manager for complex EPC or Industrial projects (including water, power, oil & gas, and nuclear sectors).

• Excellent leadership, collaboration, and influencing capabilities.

• Strong business acumen.

• Experience in managing Federal Grants.

• Familiarity with state utility regulators.

• Proven ability to navigate a matrixed and global organization.
