
Senior Manager, Assistant Controller – Global GL Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end closing procedures for global entities, encompassing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis related to Operating Expenses, Capitalized Software, and Operating Cash.
• Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Source-to-Pay teams to guarantee appropriate accounting practices, accurate financial reporting, and prompt resolution of intercompany and multi-entity challenges.
• Drive enhancements to accounting systems, processes, and internal controls, including leading crucial financial infrastructure initiatives such as vendor transitions, system integrations, and reporting automation.
• Prepare and review global consolidated audit deliverables and statutory financial statements for international subsidiaries, including the maintenance of parallel accounting records in accordance with local country GAAP.
• Build and nurture a high-performing accounting team by managing deliverables, conducting thorough reviews, and promoting professional growth for junior team members.
• Support board and senior management with reporting by providing monthly management reports, analytical reviews, and ad hoc financial analyses that aid in leadership decision-making.
• CPA (or equivalent) with over 13 years of progressive accounting experience, including a background in Big 4/professional services as well as experience in publicly traded fintech or SaaS companies.
• At least 4 years of direct team management and leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop junior staff and oversee deliverables across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Expert-level understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance, with practical experience in managing monthly book closing processes and preparing audit-ready deliverables.
• Demonstrated history of identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance closing efficiency, minimize errors, or increase reporting accuracy in a multi-entity setting.
• Proficient in large ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel, with a working knowledge of data visualization or analytics tools.
• Effectively utilizes generative AI with responsible human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and drive measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
