Division Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Responsible for month-end closing, preparation of financial statements, general ledger management, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

• Investigate and implement top-tier accounting software solutions.

• Oversee the annual budget and budget forecasting processes.

• Manage financial statements effectively.

• Lead the financial architecture for our developing two-sided platform that connects pet owners with service providers, requiring expertise in marketplace accounting such as gross vs. net revenue presentation under ASC 606, payment processor reconciliations, and escrow liability management.

• Handle accounting for software developed internally.

• Your leadership will ensure adherence to GAAP, establish strong internal controls, and create scalable systems to accommodate rapid growth in both sectors.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, product, and engineering teams to design accounting policies for new features, implement ERP improvements, and oversee audit relationships and tax strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.

• The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with technical expertise in digital marketplace platforms, preferably holding a CPA and/or having a Big 4 background.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

• Demonstrated ability to manage teams while being a collaborative team player.

• Exhibits a sense of urgency and a proactive approach.

• Strong financial analysis skills to develop data-driven recommendations for profitability and growth.
