This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks, which include managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and conducting bank reconciliations.
• Handle the processing of supplier invoices, employee expense claims, and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
• Prepare and submit BAS/GST returns and oversee payroll tax responsibilities.
• Manage payroll processes while ensuring compliance with relevant awards, employment agreements, and statutory obligations such as PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and WorkCover.
• Generate and present comprehensive monthly business reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Create a high-level executive business performance report each month that includes a clear narrative, insights, and recommendations beyond just numerical data.
• Provide variance analysis against budget and forecasts, accompanied by actionable commentary for leadership.
• Prepare project-level financial reports for the entire infrastructure project portfolio.
• Present financial performance insights to the Director and senior leadership team.
• Lead the quarterly forecasting cycle for the business encompassing revenue, costs, resources, and cash.
• Develop and present quarterly forecast packs to leadership, incorporating actuals-to-date, pipeline visibility, and updated assumptions.
• Maintain a rolling 12-month and 24-month forecast model, updated each quarter with current project, pipeline, and operational data.
• Identify risks and opportunities within each quarterly cycle and present clear scenarios to aid decision-making.
• Develop and maintain detailed revenue forecasting models segmented by project, contract, and business segment.
• Convert project pipeline and contract milestones into forward revenue schedules.
• Align revenue recognition with accounting standards, including percentage-of-completion and milestone-based billing.
• Collaborate with project managers to validate forecast assumptions and update revenue projections as contracts advance.
• Monitor and report actual revenue against forecasts, promptly flagging any significant variances.
• Create and own a comprehensive cost forecasting model covering labor, materials, subcontractors, overheads, and corporate expenses.
• Track project cost performance against budgets and updated forecasts at a detailed level.
• Identify cost overruns, margin erosion, and budget risks early, providing clear analysis and recommendations.
• Generate work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and ensure accurate reflection of cost accruals in management accounts.
• Deliver cost variance analyses each month and quarter, including root cause commentary.
• Build and maintain a resource forecasting model addressing staffing, subcontractor capacity, and project resource needs.
• Transform project pipeline and delivery schedules into forward resource requirements and associated costs.
• Work closely with project and operations teams to align resource plans with financial forecasts.
• Alert leadership to resourcing constraints, cost pressures, or capacity gaps, recommending actionable steps.
• Assist with headcount planning and workforce cost modeling as the business expands.
• Support the Director and leadership team in the annual strategic planning cycle by translating strategic priorities into financial plans.
• Construct financial models for growth scenarios, new project opportunities, tendering, and capital allocation decisions.
• Contribute to board reporting and prepare investor-ready financial packages, including KPI dashboards and forward-looking financial summaries.
• Provide commercial analysis to guide business development decisions regarding pricing, margins, bid/no-bid scenarios, and investment cases.
• Assist with ad hoc strategic analysis and financial modeling as the business evolves.
• Establish and maintain project cost centers and job costing structures.
• Track project costs against budgets, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and overheads.
• Analyze project margins and promptly flag cost overruns or commercial risks to project managers and the Director.
• Support claims management, progress billing, and variation tracking for active contracts.
• Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to aid operational decision-making.
• Monitor debtor and creditor positions, ensuring timely collections and payments.
• Manage working capital to facilitate project delivery and business operations.
• Support banking and financing relationships through accurate and timely reporting.
• Oversee the integration between Procore (project management platform) and Xero (accounting platform), ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable data flow between systems.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Procore–Xero integration while collaborating with vendors and technical resources as necessary.
• Establish data governance processes to ensure project financial data in Procore aligns with the general ledger in Xero.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between Procore project cost data and Xero financial records.
• Train and assist project managers and operations team members on Procore financial data entry and coding practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of the integration setup as the company's project portfolio and business complexity grow.
• Support the design and implementation of the company's finance systems and processes from the ground up.
• Establish financial controls, policies, and procedures suitable for a growing infrastructure business.
• Lead and continually enhance the finance function, focusing on systems, reporting cadences, and workflows.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed.
• Promote automation and efficiency in financial processes as the business scales.
• CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent international qualification).
• 7–12 years of experience in management accounting, preferably within construction, infrastructure, energy, or project-based sectors.
• At least 3 years' experience working with the Xero accounting software.
• Proven experience in quarterly and annual forecasting, covering revenue, cost, and resource dimensions.
• Strong background in project accounting, including job costing, WIP management, margin analysis, and progress billing.
• Demonstrated ability to produce board-level or executive business reports that offer narrative insights rather than just financial statements.
• Experience in supporting strategic planning processes and developing financial models for business decision-making.
• Proficiency in Xero and advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
• Hands-on experience managing or working with Procore–Xero integration (or similar construction/project management to accounting integrations).
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with Australian leadership.
• Competitive salary ranging from PHP 120,000–190,000 per month, based on experience.
