Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – CICS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional software support and services to Ensono mainframe clients concerning CICS.

• Process customer service requests for z/OS clients related to CICS TS and associated OEM software products.

• Offer primary assistance for issues reported regarding CICS TS and related OEM products.

• Install OEM software products in accordance with best practices and Ensono standards.

• Prepare customer partitions for roughly annual operating system upgrades using proactive checklists.

• Support customer migration services and transitions for newly acquired clients.

• Collaborate with project managers during customer migrations and effectively address technical challenges without hindering transition timelines or migration schedules.

• Perform tasks associated with customer disaster recovery plans in partnership with Disaster Recovery Services.

• Oversee schedules and resources to ensure timely implementations.

• Adhere to ITSM change-control procedures, which include applying vendor fixes and upgrading, maintaining, enhancing, or adding options to relevant z/OS products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with equivalent work experience.

• Over 10 years of experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform, including practical installation and maintenance related to CICS TS and OEM product support.

• In-depth working knowledge of CICS TS capabilities, usage, installation, and customization.

• Comprehensive understanding and experience with IBM SMP/E.

• Strong analytical abilities and comprehension of CICS TS concepts, configurations, and tailoring.

• Extensive knowledge of products utilized to monitor CICS TS region performance.

• Self-driven and capable of working independently.

• Proficient in multitasking and operating under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.

• Availability for 24 x 7 x 365 support across various time zones.

• Standard shift from 8 AM to 5 PM local time.

• On-call, overtime, and scheduled weekend work are required.
