This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, support, and maintain retail lending, leasing, and collections applications based on COBOL for mainframes.
• Engage in the design, development, and deployment of intricate batch and online COBOL programs and components.
• Ensure that application designs align with the overarching architectural framework.
• Collaborate with various delivery teams to enhance applications and improve processes.
• Analyze challenges and create innovative solutions.
• Acquire knowledge of systems integration, architecture, and infrastructure to meet business objectives.
• Evaluate risks while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Create and update documentation for mainframe applications and processes.
• Oversee and execute projects from the design phase through to implementation.
• Provide support for application development, infrastructure, IT operations, and production assistance.
• Over 5 years of experience in COBOL application development, including systems analysis, design, and programming for mainframe-based financial software applications.
• More than 5 years of experience with COBOL, JCL, TSO, ISPF, VSAM, EZTRIEVE, CICS, and IBM MQ.
• At least 5 years of experience with IBM or CA development product and tool suites.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience delivering application development, infrastructure, IT operations, and production support using the specified tools and programs.
• Proven experience in managing and executing successful projects from design to implementation.
• Familiarity with B2B communications and protocols such as FTP, SFTP, and FTPS.
• Experience with UNIX, Linux, or OMVS is advantageous.
• Development of web services within a mainframe environment is highly preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is ideal.
• Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Ability to evaluate risks and comply with relevant policies and procedures.
