Senior Mainframe Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the installation, configuration, management, and continuous operation of software components in both staging and production mainframe environments.

• Oversee and cultivate relationships with mainframe vendors regarding upgrades, maintenance schedules, and system downtime.

• Create, maintain, and support CICS and batch caller applications for software components.

• Conduct performance testing and tuning of components to enhance processing speed and optimize memory usage.

• Design, develop, own, and maintain Java applications utilizing industry-standard software engineering methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND six (6) years of experience in software development OR a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) along with ten (10) years of experience in software development in place of the bachelor’s degree requirement.

• Proven experience supporting and operating within IBM’s mainframe environment.

• Five (5) years of experience in mainframe administration.

• Ten (10) years of software engineering experience specifically on the mainframe.
