Senior Process Engineer – Gas Handling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Serving as the subject matter expert in gas and RNG systems to provide immediate support for optimization, troubleshooting, and overcoming constraints in existing facilities.

• Offering routine and ad hoc support to site teams managing current RNG facilities.

• Identifying, defining, and developing improvement initiatives for existing systems.

• Leading the design development of gas handling and upgrading facilities for ongoing projects as well as those in the pipeline, which includes issuing requests for proposals (RFPs) and overseeing technology/vendor selection for gas handling equipment such as upgrader units, flares, blowers/compressors, analyzers, etc.

• Collaborating closely with vendors, contractors, and other internal teams during project scope development to ensure smooth integration with the overall plant operations.

• Creating commissioning plans and assisting in the commissioning and start-up of facilities.

• Engaging in commercial and regulatory discussions while staying informed about evolving standards.

• Recognizing the implications of product specifications, customer needs, permit conditions, and renewable energy credit programs on the design of Diverts RNG facilities.

• Evaluating alternative and/or innovative methods for biogas utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Over 5 years of experience in the design or operation of gas upgrading/renewable natural gas production facilities.

• Essential skills include strong leadership, independent thinking, excellent organizational and planning capabilities, and outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proven excellence in both written and verbal communication.

• A strong desire to grow within a progressive and entrepreneurial organization.

• Exceptional execution skills.

• Direct experience in designing and/or operating facilities in the waste processing sector, including anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading (gas, RNG, biogas experience).

• Experience in both large and small organizations.

• Familiarity with waste management, food waste, anaerobic digestion, biogas, and gas handling.

• Comfort and experience with various contracting methods, including blended approaches.
