This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the customer’s existing mainframe landscape, business needs, and technical hurdles.
• Assist in proposals, design, construction, testing, modifications, migration, and operational support for mainframe products and services.
• Spearhead technical analysis and troubleshoot issues across Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, NetView, z/WAS, and z/Linux.
• Develop technical documentation, diagrams, procedures, and review materials for seamless stakeholder transitions.
• Evaluate technical and scheduling risks, project viability, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and engineers to ensure consistent delivery.
• Assess incident and problem impacts, driving swift recovery and long-term solutions.
• Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with mainframe technologies.
• Background in mainframe modernization or specific technologies such as Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, NetView, z/WAS, or z/Linux.
• Familiarity with LE/COBOL, mainframe hardware, and networking concepts.
• Proven experience in applications, infrastructure, and systems operations within enterprise IT environments.
• Strong analytical skills for resolving technical issues and outlining actionable steps.
• Experience working with diverse teams to facilitate engineering solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a strong focus on customer success.
• Preferred extensive experience in mainframe design, development, migration, operational enhancements, and incident response.
• Prior experience providing technical support and assessments across various mainframe products and services is preferred.
• Familiarity with technical plans, blueprints, configuration models, and operational procedures is preferred.
• Capability to evaluate alternatives logically and choose the optimal approach is preferred.
• Experience in process enhancement, standardization, and automation is preferred.
