Senior Mainframe Architect – Performance & Capacity Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure the highest levels of system efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Actively monitor the utilization of system resources, including CPU, memory, and storage.

• Evaluate workload trends and anticipate future infrastructure needs.

• Operate effectively within a Parallel Sysplex environment.

• Achieve a balance between system performance and financial efficiency.

• Conduct capacity forecasting and performance tuning for applications.

• Collaborate with application teams and DevOps personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience with mainframe systems in large, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex z/OS environments.

• Proficient in real-time performance monitoring and capacity management for mainframes.

• Extensive knowledge of RMF, SMF, WLM, and other mainframe performance tools.

• Strong practical skills in REXX and JCL.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize mainframe workloads in real time.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in an IT role.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a business-related role.
