Senior macOS Developer – Objective-C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within an international team to develop a cross-platform solution.

• Engage in the creation of photo-processing software aimed at revitalizing image processing.

• Conduct independent investigations into issues.

• Suggest and implement effective solutions.

• Produce tested code within a structured code review process.

• Carry out daily development duties, which include code investigation, testing, refactoring, and critically assessing AI-generated outputs.

• Contribute to an extensive, enduring macOS codebase.

• Be involved in project activities scheduled through June 2027, with the possibility of extension.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in production-level Objective-C on AppKit/Cocoa, demonstrating a solid track record.

• Strong expertise in Objective-C.

• Comprehensive experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later).

• Familiarity with large, enduring codebases, including multi-framework Xcode workspaces, Core Data, GCD/concurrency, memory management, debugging, and profiling.

• Ability to independently explore issues, propose and execute solutions, and deliver validated code through a code review process.

• Full professional proficiency in English.

• Practical experience with AI coding agents, preferably Claude Code, for daily development tasks such as code investigation, testing, refactoring, and critical evaluation of AI-generated results.

• Knowledge of Swift is a plus.

• Experience in developing desktop image-processing or photo-editing applications, or other performance-sensitive desktop software is beneficial.

• Familiarity with unit and acceptance testing frameworks, such as XCTest, OCMock, or GoogleTest, and understanding of continuous integration (CI) workflows is advantageous.

• Experience with shipping Mac apps via notarized direct distribution is an asset.

• Successful completion of a background check for final candidates is required.
