Senior macOS Developer, Objective-C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of a cross-platform solution while collaborating with an international team.

• Engage in the creation of photo-processing software that revitalizes image processing capabilities.

• Independently investigate and resolve issues as they arise.

• Suggest and implement technical solutions effectively.

• Deliver thoroughly tested code through a structured code review process.

• Conduct code investigations, testing, refactoring, and critical assessments of AI-generated outputs.

• Join a project scheduled to run through June 2027, with potential for extension.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of production experience with Objective-C on AppKit/Cocoa, demonstrating a strong track record.

• Exceptional proficiency in Objective-C programming.

• Substantial experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later).

• Familiarity with extensive, long-term codebases, including multi-framework Xcode workspaces, Core Data, GCD/concurrency, memory management, debugging, and profiling.

• Capability to investigate issues independently, propose and implement solutions, and deliver tested code through a code review process.

• Full working proficiency in English is required.

• Practical experience with AI coding agents, preferably Claude Code, for daily development tasks, including code investigation, testing, refactoring, and critical evaluation of AI-generated results.

• Knowledge of Swift is considered an advantage.

• Experience in developing desktop image-processing or photo-editing applications, or other performance-sensitive desktop software, is advantageous.

• Familiarity with unit and acceptance testing frameworks such as XCTest, OCMock, or GoogleTest, and understanding of continuous integration (CI) workflows, is a plus.

• Experience in shipping Mac apps with notarized direct distribution is advantageous.
