Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer, Ranking Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement the next generation of machine learning ranking systems that drive personalized feeds, search functionalities, and other products at Reddit.

• Develop and design machine learning and Generative AI systems in scalable cloud-based production environments.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to convert requirements into scalable machine learning solutions.

• Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code that facilitates quick and safe iterations.

• Advocate for and implement engineering processes and best practices.

• Elevate engineering standards within the team through code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a software engineer focused on developing large-scale distributed systems and data-intensive machine learning systems, utilizing Go, Python, C++, or any object-oriented programming language.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale, high-performance, and reliable machine learning systems, with a preference for experience in recommendation systems.

• Proficient in developing and enhancing tools for deployment, automation, system diagnosis, ML monitoring, and more.

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks and maintain project schedules while paying close attention to detail.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Knowledgeable about software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation.

• Possess an entrepreneurial spirit; self-motivated, innovative, and action-oriented in fast-paced environments, enjoying the challenge of building new things even amidst uncertainty and setbacks.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively in a fully remote environment and articulating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
