Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design and implement full-stack machine learning models, encompassing binary classification and regression, aimed at detecting and preventing financial crimes during transaction processing and client onboarding.

• Collect requirements, create prototypes, and deploy models into production environments.

• Take ownership of the Dynamic Risk Score (DRS) across all markets, performing daily scoring of the entire client base.

• Oversee transaction rules utilizing ML-driven detection and enhance performance as well as alert volumes.

• Set up ongoing monitoring for model and rule performance in production.

• Create a champion-challenger framework to maintain the most effective model in operation.

• Engage in infrastructure development for the operationalization of ML models and facilitate inter-service communications.

• Deploy, serve, monitor, and refine production models while working within a small team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Full-stack Data Scientist.

• Experience in deploying to production, including API services like FastAPI.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks.

• Strong architectural abilities; skilled in designing and enhancing infrastructure for models of varying complexities.

• Experience with model monitoring and implementing champion-challenger / A-B testing in production.

• Educational background in quantitative fields such as mathematics, engineering, economics, or computer science.

• Fluent in English.

• Knowledge of graph modeling or foundation models/embeddings is advantageous.

• Analytical and critical thinker; self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a start-up environment.
