Senior Livelihoods Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• You will be part of a small grantmaking team, helping to advance our ambitious research agenda focused on livelihoods.

• You’ll analyze the numerous questions we could explore, narrowing down to those that are most significant.

• You’ll also engage in external communication regarding your work and provide guidance to fellow researchers on the team.

• You will help develop a research agenda that applies rigor and creativity to the complex challenges the GiveWell livelihoods team encounters.

• Your role will involve reviewing empirical evidence, performing critical synthesis, engaging in cost-effectiveness modeling, consulting with subject matter experts, and leveraging your own insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• A quantitatively focused advanced degree (e.g., in economics, statistics, public policy, or related areas).

• Significant professional experience within the livelihoods sector (broadly defined), which may encompass academic research and/or program implementation or funding experience.
