Senior Litigation Attorney – Complex Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of daily tasks by defining scope, managing budgets, overseeing timekeepers, and ensuring validated plans are maintained.

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on most matters and escalate issues when there are changes in risk, budget, or strategy.

• Draft and present motions effectively.

• Conduct and defend depositions.

• Oversee the discovery process.

• Guide matters to hearings or trials as a competent second chair and evolving into a first chair role.

• Provide mentorship to junior attorneys and paralegals.

• Enhance matter plans, templates, technology, or legal products by implementing at least one concrete improvement each week.

• Ensure accurate timekeeping, fulfill service commitments, adhere to budgets, and execute plans as intended.

• Recognize and document related legal needs.

• Facilitate structured alignment discussions regarding scope, timelines, and expectations.

• Maintain proactive communication with clients.

• Manage high-stakes business litigation, real estate development disputes, contested mortgage foreclosures, construction litigation, and complex commercial cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the Florida Bar.

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial law, demonstrating sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

• Strong advocacy skills in motions, depositions, hearings, negotiations, and strategy development.

• Capability to work independently while collaborating within an established framework.

• Comfort in making swift decisions without the need for constant guidance.

• Natural persuasive abilities, excellent communication skills, and a confident demeanor.

• Proven track record of managing cases autonomously, including budget adherence, accurate scope definition, and dependable delivery without daily oversight.

• Ability to make decisive actions while operating within a structured environment and to enhance that structure.

• Strong analytical skills: able to formulate positions based on facts and evidence and defend them effectively.

• Clear and direct communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and team members.

• Comfort in delegating substantial tasks and ensuring follow-up.

• Prior experience as a first-chair in trials or appellate cases is preferred.

• Experience in complex commercial, class action, consumer, or eminent domain litigation is preferred.
