
Senior Linux System Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide mentorship and training to Junior System Administrators and System Administrators to enhance their technical skills and operational best practices.
• Oversee technical projects from initiation to execution, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and meet objectives.
• Manage incident response for escalated issues, coordinating communication and resolution as necessary.
• Set up, configure, and maintain internal infrastructure virtual machines (VMs) and services on an ongoing basis.
• Strategically plan, stage, and execute platform upgrades and updates across the server infrastructure.
• Provision and configure software on new nodes to facilitate production and development environments.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues reported by the platform and customers.
• Install, configure, and deploy servers by setting up necessary operating systems, software, and services.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in administering enterprise Linux environments (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, or similar).
• In-depth knowledge of Linux system administration, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
• Proficient in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages utilized for automation and infrastructure management.
• Experience with deploying and managing virtualization platforms and containerized workloads, such as Kubernetes and Libvirt.
• Understanding of networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and DNS.
• Background in configuring and supporting web servers, databases, caching solutions, and distributed storage platforms like Ceph.
• Familiarity with Cumulus Linux, PHP routing, and other related infrastructure technologies is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a knack for diagnosing and resolving complex platform and customer-facing issues.
• Exceptional communication, documentation, and mentoring skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
• Must reside in the United States.
