Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer – Bare Metal, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, manage, and troubleshoot extensive Linux infrastructure.

• Collaborate with various teams to guarantee the optimal performance and reliability of Linux systems.

• Oversee enterprise storage solutions, ensuring both availability and performance.

• Supervise the deployment of bare metal servers and the overall hardware architecture.

• Engage in discussions regarding capacity planning and performance tuning strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in Linux administration (Ubuntu required; proficiency in Red Hat and SUSE preferred).

• Profound knowledge in the deployment, architecture, and administration of bare metal servers.

• Comprehensive understanding of server hardware, including BIOS, RAID, firmware, iLO/iDRAC/IPMI, NICs, HBA cards, and hardware troubleshooting.

• Proven experience in designing and managing enterprise Linux infrastructure.

• Advanced skills in Linux storage administration: LVM, XFS, EXT4, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SAN, and Multipath I/O.

• Strong hands-on experience with Ceph, including cluster architecture MON, OSD, MDS, RBD, CephFS, and RGW.

• Capacity planning expertise.

• Knowledge in performance tuning.

• Experience in failure recovery strategies.

• Solid networking knowledge (bonding, VLANs, routing, MTU, DNS, DHCP).

• Experience with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery processes.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across Linux OS, hardware, networking, and storage.

• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation purposes.
