This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conducting translations and overseeing the review and quality assurance (QA) of Assamese translation tasks.
• Carrying out copy-editing and linguistic evaluations to guarantee precision, uniformity, and adherence to style guidelines.
• Offering constructive feedback to translators and freelancers to enhance overall quality.
• Managing and updating language resources (glossaries, style guides, work instructions) to ensure their accuracy and consistency.
• Handling and addressing linguistic inquiries from translators, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitating effective collaboration within the translation team by clarifying terminology, style, and linguistic concerns.
• Assisting in the onboarding, development, and training of new linguists and freelancers as needed.
• Engaging in the creation of new and improved review and quality assurance processes.
• Meeting or surpassing quality and productivity KPIs established for the position.
• Fulfilling the objectives set by the Squad Lead / Language Lead.
• A university degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Over 2 years of experience in translation, review, or localization.
• Native proficiency in the Assamese language.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• A solid understanding of the localization process and review workflows.
• Proficiency in standard software applications (Windows, MS Office).
• Practical experience with CAT tools (e.g., XTM, SDL Studio, PolyGlot, MateCat, ATMS, fbCAT, etc.) and issue management tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new localization tools.
• Keen attention to detail along with outstanding review and editing abilities.
• Competence in providing clear, concise, and constructive feedback to linguists.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of terminology management in one or more subject areas.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to address diverse linguistic challenges.
• Willingness and capability to train and mentor others when necessary.
• Positive attitude towards client and stakeholder communication.
