Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee and resolve intricate employee exit processes autonomously across diverse international jurisdictions, prioritizing an exceptional offboarding experience for Remote's clients and employees.

β€’ Offer reliable and informed guidance with an advanced understanding of key jurisdictions, managing client inquiries related to various HR issues, including but not limited to termination, resignation and transfer processes, employment contracts, and redundancy procedures, while ensuring adherence to legal compliance and best practices.

β€’ Take the lead in organizing and conducting meetings with clients and external employees, including but not limited to workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, negotiations during separations and settlements, providing termination guidance, and communicating termination outcomes.

β€’ Negotiate and influence favorable results in complex termination situations, effectively navigating and guiding multiple stakeholders with differing interests through a complicated, involved, and often prolonged process.

β€’ Collaborate and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to guarantee compliance in offboarding activities and audits, including but not limited to payroll, legal advisors, government organizations, and trade unions.

β€’ Draft, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documentation with precision and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring employee records are maintained in strict accordance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.

β€’ Administer offboarding through Remote's internal HRIS platform, working in tandem with various internal teams, such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance, to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are executed accurately and promptly.

β€’ Serve as the initial point of informal escalation as a trusted colleague with sound judgment, providing expertise, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members.

β€’ Deliver comprehensive support on Remote's Employee Relations resources, assisting clients in navigating complex workplace scenarios.

β€’ Conduct detailed preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identifying critical facts, relevant local regulations, and potential solutions.

β€’ Act as a reliable resource for both internal and external stakeholders on employee relations issues, ensuring appropriate management of complex cases.

β€’ Assist clients in understanding progressive disciplinary methods, documentation requirements, and best practices for addressing challenging situations.

β€’ Monitor and track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-ups and suitable coordination with relevant stakeholders.

β€’ Be the subject-matter expert, proactively addressing internal and external inquiries related to all offboarding and first-level employee relations matters in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.

β€’ Identify opportunities for improvement, advocate for and implement process enhancements, automation, product development, and overall customer and employee experience improvements through offboarding and employee relations procedures.

β€’ Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments. Exercise discretion in selecting methods, evaluating and adapting complex techniques and evaluation criteria for achieving results, considering the broader needs of Lifecycle and Remote.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with a strong foundation in generalist HR competencies and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.

β€’ Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law are considered advantageous.

β€’ Demonstrated experience with a solid background in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with sensitivity and legal compliance; along with providing comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.

β€’ Knowledge of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and workplace investigation basics.

β€’ Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR challenges, and utilize problem-solving skills to independently (sometimes with minimal supervision) develop solutions, conduct research, and translate this into practical resources for the team, effectively communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar settings.

β€’ Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to lead challenging discussions to a positive resolution, often where parties have conflicting interests, while demonstrating authority and expertise as a representative of Remote, and maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.

β€’ Business-level (advanced) proficiency in both written and spoken English, with proficiency in additional languages viewed favorably.

β€’ A strong inclination and enthusiasm for innovating and optimizing processes, consistently seeking, developing, and implementing automation opportunities and championing best practices.

β€’ Operational efficiency awareness, with a strong emphasis on thorough record-keeping and data integrity.

β€’ Tech-savvy, capable of collaborating asynchronously using various tools, and adapting to new and evolving systems.

β€’ Ability to work independently and cohesively within an international team in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.

β€’ Proactive and self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, capable of inspiring others.

β€’ Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities, along with fluency in AI technologies.
