Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee and resolve intricate end-to-end employee exits independently across various international jurisdictions, ensuring an exceptional offboarding experience for both Remote's clients and their employees.

β€’ Offer reliable and informed guidance with a high level of expertise on key jurisdictions, managing client inquiries regarding various HR topics, including but not limited to termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practices.

β€’ Take the lead in facilitating meetings with clients and external employees, encompassing workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, negotiations regarding separations and settlements, providing guidance on terminations, and delivering outcomes related to terminations.

β€’ Influence and negotiate favorable results in complex termination cases, skillfully navigating and directing multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests through a challenging, intricate, and sometimes protracted process.

β€’ Collaborate with and coordinate various internal and external stakeholders to guarantee compliance with offboarding activities and audits, including payroll, legal counsel, government entities, and trade unions.

β€’ Accurately draft, customize, and administer all termination and supplementary documentation, ensuring meticulous maintenance of employee records in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.

β€’ Manage offboarding processes on Remote's internal HRIS platform, working in conjunction with various internal teams, such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance, to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are handled accurately and swiftly.

β€’ Serve as the primary informal escalation point, acting as a trusted colleague with sound judgment, providing expertise, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.

β€’ Offer comprehensive advice on Remote's Employee Relations resources, assisting clients in navigating complex workplace scenarios.

β€’ Perform thorough preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identifying essential facts, relevant local regulations, and possible solutions.

β€’ Act as a trusted resource for both internal and external stakeholders regarding employee relations matters, ensuring proper management of complex cases.

β€’ Assist clients in understanding progressive disciplinary measures, documentation standards, and best practices for addressing challenging situations.

β€’ Monitor and track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up and effective coordination with relevant stakeholders.

β€’ Be the subject-matter expert, proactively resolving internal and external inquiries regarding all offboarding and first-level employee relations issues alongside Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.

β€’ Identify opportunities for improvement, advocate for, and drive enhancements, automation, product development, and an overall improved customer and employee experience through offboarding and employee relations processes.

β€’ Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments. Use discretion in selecting methods and evaluating complex techniques and criteria to achieve results, considering the broader needs of Lifecycle and Remote.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Proven experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, demonstrating generalist HR skills and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.

β€’ Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, labor relations, or employment law are considered advantageous.

β€’ Demonstrated experience with a strong background in managing both voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity, and legal adherence; providing thorough HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.

β€’ Knowledge of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and basic workplace investigation practices.

β€’ Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and employ problem-solving skills to independently (or occasionally with minimal supervision) reach solutions, conduct research, and convert this into functional team resources, providing practical solutions and effectively communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations.

β€’ Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation abilities, with a proven track record of independently leading challenging discussions to a positive outcome, even when parties have opposing interests, while representing Remote with authority and expertise, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

β€’ Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English is required, with knowledge of additional languages being a plus.

β€’ A strong interest and capability to innovate and enhance processes, continuously identifying, developing, and implementing automation opportunities and championing best practices.

β€’ Operational efficiency with an understanding of the importance of meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.

β€’ Tech-savvy, with the ability to effectively collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to new and evolving systems.

β€’ Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within an international team in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote work environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities. Flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed.
