This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for the effective risk selection of reviewed cases.
• Ensure optimal risk assessment of reviewed cases.
• Regular collaboration with Underwriting, New Business, and distribution teams.
• Approval authority ranging from $1,500,000 to $2,500,000 across all tables and age categories.
• Capable of evaluating risks up to $3,500,000.
• Demonstrated proficiency in all responsibilities and expectations of Underwriter and Intermediate Underwriter roles.
• Influential within the immediate team and among peer Underwriters.
• Takes initiative in daily responsibilities, requiring minimal guidance to remain productive.
• Willingly assists the team and the Underwriting Department.
• Displays strong organizational skills and knows whom to approach for inquiries.
• Recognizes personal contributions to the team's success and the organization as a whole.
• Willing to question established practices and engage peers professionally.
• Consistently seeks opportunities to enhance processes.
• Eager to volunteer for leadership roles in departmental or functional projects.
• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in life or health underwriting.
• Proven proficiency in AWD or a comparable system.
• Competent in MS Office applications.
• Strong risk assessment and platform skills.
• Completion of a minimum of two LOMA classes, with a preference for those working towards FLMI designation.
• Completion of the AALU Certification while pursuing FALU is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Capacity to meet high productivity standards for oneself and team members.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of working independently, potentially in a remote setting within a virtual team environment.
