This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Offer legal assistance for product innovation, distribution, and sales by leveraging the ability to comprehend, interpret, and translate legal, business, and technical concepts to deliver practical and business-focused opinions on legal risks while ensuring suitable contractual terms.
• Evaluate product features, functionalities, designs, data processing proposals, and other related initiatives to identify potential legal challenges, safeguard intellectual property rights, assess AI-related issues, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory standards.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and oversee commercial contracts, including agreements with data suppliers and integration, inbound and outbound licenses, technology service contracts, alliance agreements, and supplier contracts.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience, including a background in digital media, digital advertising, ad tech, data analytics, AI, or technology law within a law firm and/or in-house.
• In-depth understanding of online, internet, and mobile communications, as well as connected devices (e.g., IP protocol, device identifiers, cookies, content/ad delivery, APIs, SDKs).
• Experience in supporting data processing teams that work with identity graphs/spines, data matching, data modeling and algorithms, identity resolution, and data clean rooms.
• A robust understanding of AI products, large language models (LLMs), and the associated legal considerations.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts related to online media, consumer data, digital advertising technology, market research, and/or data products, along with experience in commercial sales agreements with various compensation structures.
• Familiarity with current, relevant laws and regulations concerning contracts, computer/technology, licensing, intellectual property, and privacy.
• Practical knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy law as it pertains to consumer data.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with a Juris Doctor degree.
• A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics is advantageous.
