This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Deliver expert, timely, and strategic legal counsel to the organization across a wide array of legal subjects that influence the business.
• Spearhead the formulation and execution of legal strategies, encompassing risk management and defense tactics in alignment with business goals.
• Supervise and enhance internal governance structures, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
• Identify, evaluate, and oversee legal risks associated with business operations, transactions, and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate intricate agreements, contracts, and legal documents to safeguard the company’s interests.
• Manage and oversee disputes and litigation issues, including devising case strategies, coordinating with external counsel, and ensuring effective resolutions that align with business objectives.
• Serve as the primary contact with external stakeholders, including regulators, authorities, and external legal advisors, fostering trusted relationships.
• Provide leadership in navigating complex, high-stakes legal matters involving multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions.
• Mentor and guide junior legal team members, contributing to the capability enhancement of the legal function.
• Keep track of legislative and regulatory changes and advise leadership on potential implications for the organization.
• Ensure clear communication of legal principles and requirements throughout the organization to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Assist with mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic transactions.
• Engage in cross-functional leadership initiatives and corporate governance committees.
• Promote ongoing improvement in legal processes, tools, and compliance frameworks.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in a senior legal capacity within an international corporate setting; experience in the Life Sciences sector is preferred.
• Strong background in commercial matters, M&A, employment law, corporate compliance, corporate governance, and dispute resolution/litigation management.
• Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance obligations.
• Proven history of managing complex legal issues and advising senior stakeholders effectively.
• Demonstrated capability to develop and implement legal strategies that align with business objectives.
• Training in UK law would be regarded as an advantage.
