This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Cultivate strong relationships with Sales, Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and various business stakeholders to facilitate customer and channel transactions.
• Oversee the examination, creation, and negotiation of diverse commercial agreements, encompassing SaaS, BaaS, software, professional services, channel partnerships (including aggregator, reseller, and GSI relationships), as well as NDAs.
• Offer practical, commercially-oriented legal counsel to Sales and business stakeholders, aiding negotiations with clear, pragmatic advice while identifying, communicating, and managing significant legal, regulatory, privacy, and commercial risks, and guiding compliance needs, data protection responsibilities, and internal approval processes.
• Formulate practical and defensible solutions to intricate contractual and commercial challenges, exercising sound judgment to balance risk, identify suitable mitigations, and determine when escalation is necessary.
• Foresee potential contractual, legal, or operational challenges and take proactive measures to address them effectively, minimizing the risk of disputes or delays.
• Assist in the development and ongoing enhancement of contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and legal processes, and create and deliver training and awareness initiatives to foster best practices and comprehension of legal risks, contracting principles, and company procedures.
• Collaborate efficiently with colleagues across the Legal department and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Licensed attorney with considerable (10-15+ years) post-qualification experience acquired in a prominent law firm and/or in-house legal department, with a strong emphasis on in-house experience.
• Solid background in commercial contracts, preferably within a software, SaaS, cloud technology, or broader technology sector.
• Exceptional skills in drafting, contract review, and negotiation.
• Extensive experience in negotiating complex customer and partner agreements.
• Proven capability to advise business stakeholders in a practical, concise, and commercially-focused manner.
• Experience supporting sales teams and collaborating closely with commercial stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
• Expertise in advising on privacy and data protection matters arising from commercial technology transactions, including customer contracting requirements related to the processing, transfer, storage, and safeguarding of data.
