This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate a diverse array of commercial agreements, which encompass supplier and vendor contracts, service agreements, platform and licensing deals, strategic partnerships, marketing and sponsorship contracts, terms and conditions, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
• Offer clear, practical, and commercially-driven legal guidance to stakeholders across various teams including commercial, operations, governance, clinical, pharmacy, marketing, and technology.
• Collaborate with teams right from the inception of new projects, identifying legal and regulatory factors while assisting in the development of solutions that effectively balance speed, opportunity, and manageable risk.
• Ensure compliance with UK legal and regulatory standards pertinent to our operations, including contract and consumer law, advertising and marketing regulations, healthcare and pharmacy laws, and data protection in partnership with privacy experts.
• Assist in the development of digital platforms, new products, service launches, commercial partnerships, and international contracting, particularly within European markets.
• Simplify complex legal requirements into clear, accessible advice that empowers colleagues to make informed decisions.
• Create and deliver practical training sessions for non-legal teams on topics such as contracting basics, confidentiality, marketing claims, and pertinent regulatory obligations.
• Enhance the simplicity and scalability of legal support by developing templates, playbooks, approval procedures, and self-service resources.
• Drive improvements in legal systems and operational processes, which include contract repositories, contract lifecycle management, approvals, and electronic signatures.
• Investigate how technology and AI can be responsibly leveraged to enhance legal research, drafting, and contract management.
• Oversee multiple matters simultaneously, exercising sound judgment in prioritization and knowing when to escalate issues or seek input from senior legal colleagues.
• Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, or as a CILEX lawyer, with approximately 4 - 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Strong experience with commercial contracts acquired through private practice, in-house roles, or a blend of both.
• Exceptional drafting and negotiation abilities, underpinned by a solid grasp of fundamental contract law principles.
• Proven experience managing a varied commercial workload in a dynamic environment, with the capability to prioritize effectively and deliver high-quality work promptly.
• Confidence to advise and constructively challenge stakeholders at varying levels of seniority while fostering strong, trustworthy relationships.
• A pragmatic, commercially astute approach to risk—you’ll be comfortable articulating what is important, why it is significant, and how we can progress.
• Ability to communicate intricate legal issues clearly and without excessive jargon.
• An inquisitive mindset regarding digital health, online services, and regulated industries, with a desire to cultivate deeper expertise in consumer protection, advertising, data protection, information governance, and healthcare or pharmacy regulations.
• A proactive, solution-oriented attitude and a readiness to engage in activities that will contribute to the success of the team and the broader business.
