Senior Learning Engineer, Math Focus

📋 Description

• Identify significant opportunities for developing AI applications that improve math teaching and learning.

• Create custom math applications on Playlab in collaboration with partner organizations.

• Collaborate with math educators through hands-on coaching and design sprints.

• Set the standard for math AI tools throughout the platform.

• Mentor Learning Engineers on projects related to mathematics.

• Conduct high-trust coaching through various support strategies.

• Explore the limits of what can be achieved in math applications.

• Assist in initiatives focused on building student-oriented math resources.

• Provide field insights to Playlab's product and engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess over 5 years of experience in K-12 math classroom or instructional leadership.

• Have a profound respect for the challenges of math teaching.

• Exhibit a deep understanding of math teaching and learning processes.

• Demonstrate experience in coaching and supporting math educators.

• Have experience in utilizing, analyzing, and creating AI tools.

• Hold a strong emerging perspective on the limitations of current tools and the challenges of utilizing AI.

• Understand the distinction between AI that generates confidently incorrect answers and AI that facilitates genuine mathematical thinking.

• Have experience mentoring or coaching math educators or instructional coaches.

• Prioritize equity and access as central to the work.
