
Senior Learning Engineer β Lab Schools Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee 4 to 5 Lab Schools.
β’ Collaborate with the Lab Schools Learning Partner to co-manage the Cohort.
β’ Create Custom AI Tools in partnership with educators and leaders, including tailored assessment tools, lesson planners with knowledge graphs, student-facing applications, and family communication tools aligned with each school's teaching philosophy.
β’ Guide Embedded Regional Learning Educators located in NYC, Memphis, Austin, the DMV, and Tempe, enhancing their skills and supporting their development into senior practitioners.
β’ Maintain the Rubric for Lab Schools Developments.
β’ Conduct High-Trust Coaching through drop-in sessions, asynchronous support, and one-on-one video coaching with the most skilled builders and leaders across the network.
β’ Co-Facilitate Quarterly Meetings.
β’ Engage Beyond the Cohort as needs emerge.
β’ Relay Field Insights to Playlab's product, engineering, and research teams to inform platform features and shared resources.
β’ Possess over 5 years of experience in classroom teaching, instructional leadership, or school administration, with a profound appreciation for the challenges of teaching.
β’ Have a proven track record as a senior builder in delivering innovative AI tools utilizing advanced methodologies (multi-step flows, evaluator loops, knowledge grounding, agentic design).
β’ Demonstrate experience in mentoring or coaching educators, balancing patience with high expectations.
β’ Exhibit strong remote-first instincts, fostering trust through video communication and collaborative documents.
β’ Display confidence in prompting and AI application design, with a clear understanding of how educators and students utilize AI in real classroom settings.
β’ Possess excellent skills in curation and documentation (including build logs, playbooks, walkthroughs, and recorded sessions) that effectively facilitate learning for others.
β’ Be comfortable taking primary responsibility for the Lab Schools cohort while adapting to additional tasks as team priorities shift.
β’ Prioritize equity and access as central to the work.
β’ Be prepared to commit to the full 24-month cohort cycle, including four quarterly three-day meetings.
