This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Oversee I&C engineering design tasks related to process control, safety controls, monitoring, interlocks, alarms, and facility control systems.
• Create, evaluate, and authorize control narratives, logic diagrams, instrument specifications, datasheets, loop diagrams, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and control system architecture documents.
• Direct design activities for PLC, DCS, SIS, HMI, SCADA, alarm management, interlock, data acquisition, and safety-related controls.
• Assist in conducting hazardous location assessments, safety control requirements, process safety evaluations, operability assessments, design evaluations, and safety basis interfaces.
• Facilitate coordination of I&C interfaces with process, piping, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, cybersecurity, radiological controls, safety basis, construction, vendors, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Assess vendor control system packages, instrument submissions, factory acceptance test documents, software configurations, and system integration outputs.
• Offer technical guidance to engineers and designers involved in control panels, instrumentation, field installations, testing, calibration, commissioning, and project turnover.
• Ensure technical quality, configuration management, schedule alignment, and effective communication with project and client leadership.
• A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable engineering field.
• Over 10 years of experience in I&C engineering supporting PLC, DCS, SIS, process controls, nuclear, DOE, chemical, high-hazard, or highly regulated industrial facilities.
• Extensive experience with control narratives, logic diagrams, instrument specifications, loop diagrams, hazardous locations, safety controls, and integrated control systems.
• Proven capability to lead I&C design projects and manage complex control interfaces across various engineering disciplines.
• Familiarity with field instrumentation, I/O architecture, alarms, interlocks, calibration, functional testing, commissioning, and configuration management.
• Excellent skills in technical writing, leadership, communication, review, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain and retain necessary site access, training, and security clearances.
• US citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of government contract and clearance requirements.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with nuclear fuel facilities, uranium processing, hot cells, gloveboxes, GTS, chemical process controls, or safety significant control systems.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Schneider, GE, Wonderware, Ignition, or similar.
• Professional Engineer license, ISA certification, functional safety experience, or background in control system cybersecurity.
• Active DOE L or Q clearance.
