Senior / Lead Fullstack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of product features — from database architecture to API design and the mobile user interface.

• Develop internal tools, merchant-oriented platforms, and customer-centric mobile workflows.

• Ensure observability from the outset — establishing SLOs, alerts, and dashboards to identify issues before users notice them.

• Create systems that are designed for handoff: well-documented, tested, and comprehensible for engineers revisiting them after months.

• Design and implement functionalities across mobile and backend, taking full ownership of the entire surface area.

• Contribute to or lead architecture and design decisions (E2 or E3) by drafting proposals, presenting trade-offs, and making informed choices.

• Conduct thorough code reviews to catch correctness issues, security vulnerabilities, and provide opportunities for mentorship.

• Address and resolve production incidents, ensuring that runbooks are improved with every encounter.

• Utilize AI tools on a daily basis — not as a crutch, but as a means to enhance speed, testing, and exploration.

• Foster the growth of fellow engineers through pairing, constructive feedback, and sincere code reviews (E3).

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in fullstack development (5+ years for E3), preferably focusing on B2C products.

• Strong backend expertise, primarily in Java/Spring; familiarity with Python or Go is an advantage.

• Proficient in mobile development: capable of building real production applications using Flutter/Dart, rather than merely assembling widgets.

• Extensive experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL), databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and cloud services (AWS: ECS, Lambda).

• Understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.

• Strong testing instincts, including unit, integration, and sufficient end-to-end testing to ensure reliable builds.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (DataDog), and deploying in cloud environments.

• Knowledge of payment platforms, including their workflows, constraints, and critical failure modes relevant to BNPL or fintech products.

• Capable of producing clear technical documentation that is engaging and accessible.

• Able to communicate trade-offs effectively to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders, without condescension or jargon.

• Fluent in Spanish with proficiency in English for collaboration with our teams in India and internationally.
