Senior / Lead E Commerce Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive technical execution of the e-commerce ecosystem, encompassing: B2C and B2B commerce platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), payment solutions, tax and fraud prevention, as well as order tracking systems.

• Design and establish essential integrations throughout the order lifecycle, including: Merchant of Record (MOR) solutions and warehouse/inventory management systems.

• Formulate and implement an integration strategy for omnichannel commerce, which includes: Marketplaces, social commerce, and reseller platforms.

• Ensure systems are fine-tuned for: Performance, scalability, security, and compliance.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams: Direct architecture decisions, perform code reviews, and assist in solution design and development.

• Collaborate with business, product, and IT stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business goals.

• Create and sustain technical roadmaps to facilitate both immediate delivery and long-term scalability.

• Identify dependencies and mitigate risks across platforms and integrations.

• Promote ongoing enhancements of system architecture by addressing: Performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.

• Maintain architecture documentation and uphold technical standards.

• Utilize AI tools (such as Copilot, Claude, etc.) to expedite: Code generation and debugging, as well as testing automation (pre-PR validation).

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of IT experience, specifically in e-commerce implementations and delivery.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing enterprise-scale, high-transaction systems, ideally within global settings.

• Extensive knowledge in: Commerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commerce tools, SAP Commerce, etc.).

• Familiarity with Order Management Systems (OMS).

• Experience with payment gateways, fraud prevention, and tax systems.

• Understanding of Merchant of Record (MOR) solutions.

• Strong grasp of: Web architecture and object-oriented design.

• Proficient in APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.

• Experience in multi-country, multi-currency, and multi-language commerce environments.

• Strong consulting mindset with the ability to: Analyze complex systems.

• Drive data-driven technical decisions.

• Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
