Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Engage with one of the largest social media platforms globally, managing petabytes of data on a daily basis.

• Receive assignments from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), develop functional and design specifications, and secure approval from all stakeholders.

• Provide estimates, agree on task durations with the manager, and contribute to the project plan for the designated area.

• Update and enhance local and metadata models, taking responsibility for resolving crisis situations within the assigned area of responsibility (AOR).

• Grasp the business drivers and analytical use cases, translating them into actionable data products.

• Initiate and facilitate code reviews, and establish coding standards, conventions, and guidelines.

• Propose technical and functional enhancements to increase the product's value.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Kubernetes/DevOps Engineer.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes and batch schedulers (e.g., Volcano, Kueue).

• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems, containerization, and cloud-native architectures.

• Practical experience in managing workloads on Kubernetes clusters, particularly AWS EKS.

• Proven history of working on infrastructure migrations.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Golang.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm).

• Experience in observability and monitoring for GPU clusters using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
