Senior Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and support the KMP shared core, which includes business logic, state machines, and data models utilized by both Android and iOS clients.

• Design the public API for the shared module, determining what is accessible to platform-specific code and what remains internal.

• Ensure the shared module remains platform-agnostic: avoid Android-only imports, utilize plain data classes, and implement suspend functions at the platform boundary.

• Implement dependency injection with Metro, a modern DI tool similar to Dagger/Anvil.

• Package the iOS component as an XCFramework and correctly manage Kotlin/Native interop for Swift users.

• Create and uphold a Jetpack Compose benchmark application on Android to validate the shared core.

• Collaborate with Android and iOS engineers to transition their existing native code to the shared core.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in production with Kotlin Multiplatform, including shared module design, expect/actual implementation, and understanding platform boundaries.

• Proven track record of building and deploying an SDK or library for use by other developers, including making decisions on public API content.

• Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (Dagger, Anvil, Hilt, Koin, or similar); ability to quickly learn Metro.

• Practical knowledge of Swift and iOS development, including Kotlin/Native interop and Objective-C/Swift bridging.

• Experience with Jetpack Compose.

• Strong foundational knowledge of Kotlin, including coroutines, suspend functions, and structured concurrency.

• Experience with Compose Multiplatform is not currently required but may be a future focus.

• Understanding of Kotlin/Native specifics, such as memory models, concurrency constraints, and interop nuances.

• Production experience in Android or iOS beyond just KMP.

• Experience with on-device AI/ML applications.
