Senior JS Developer, React – Maritime Industry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, high-performing React applications that provide intuitive experiences for maritime professionals.

• Lead frontend technical decisions by establishing patterns, component libraries, and coding standards across the team.

• Integrate frontend applications with backend microservices using REST and GraphQL APIs hosted on Azure.

• Advocate for code quality through comprehensive code reviews, automated testing, and a focus on continuous improvement.

• Mentor mid-level and junior developers, sharing knowledge and promoting a culture of technical excellence.

• Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless end-to-end features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional frontend development experience, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to React.

• Proficient in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.

• Experience in building and consuming APIs within microservices architectures.

• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design principles.

• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and deploying frontend applications within cloud environments.

• Skilled in Git and collaborative development workflows, including code reviews and branching strategies.

• NICE TO HAVE: Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.

• Knowledge of containerization using Docker.

• Background in the maritime, logistics, or SaaS platform sectors.
