Senior Java/AWS Cloud Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create and implement applications utilizing AWS-native services.

• Design serverless architectures using Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, Cognito, Aurora, and DynamoDB, collaborating with business analysts, architects, and developers.

• Execute infrastructure as code through Terraform or CDK.

• Enhance application performance and manage costs within AWS.

• Ensure adherence to security and governance standards.

• Work with development teams to incorporate cloud services.

• Engage in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.

• Diagnose and resolve technical challenges across the entire stack.

• Assist in the modernization and improvement of a loan origination and servicing system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, Cognito, Aurora, and DynamoDB.

• Experience with serverless frameworks and event-driven design.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies within AWS.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and X-Ray.

• Programming skills in Java.

• Strong grasp of security best practices in cloud environments.

• Excellent analytical skills and capability to thrive in an agile setting.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer certification is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience with AI development and testing tools, such as GitHub Copilot, is preferred.

• Proficiency in containerization with Docker and orchestration with ECS/EKS is a bonus.

• Experience with large-scale IT and database systems utilizing Java technologies and SQL Server is preferred.

• Experience in developing and/or supporting loan origination and servicing systems is preferred.
