Senior Java Engineer – Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Providing guidance on technical direction and architectural choices.

• Assessing the scalability, maintainability, and performance of the current platform.

• Conducting code reviews and offering technical mentorship.

• Collaborating with leadership on technical strategies and roadmap development.

• Evaluating opportunities for modernization, including potential migration from monolithic to microservices architectures.

• Facilitating the adoption of AI-driven tools and solutions for data management.

• Ensuring that engineering initiatives align with business objectives and product goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of practical Java development experience.

• Strong skills in software architecture and system design.

• Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.

• Deep understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance optimization techniques.

• Proficient in SQL and database design.

• Experience utilizing AI agents and AI-assisted development tools during the coding process (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini).

• Capacity to work independently and make strategic technical decisions.

• Background in conducting code reviews and mentoring engineering personnel.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.

• Nice to Have:

• Experience with transformations from monolith to microservices.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and AI-based solutions.

• Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or data-centric product environments.

• Prior experience as a Tech Lead or Staff Engineer.
