Senior Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Collaborating with product and client stakeholders to identify the core issues, then transforming them into tangible solutions that can be developed.

• Taking full responsibility for features from initial scoping and design to development, testing, and deployment.

• Leveraging AI coding agents to accelerate progress while maintaining rigorous oversight of code quality, structure, and long-term sustainability.

• Constructing and integrating LLMs into functionalities, refining prompts, evaluations, and safeguards to ensure AI-assisted features operate reliably in production.

• Adhering to an established data model and clear agreements, proactively raising concerns when discrepancies arise instead of hastily creating incorrect solutions.

• Providing feedback to product and client teams based on insights gained, ensuring each iteration improves upon the last.

• Strong instinct for product development.

• Proficient in back-end development, primarily in Java, with additional experience in Python.

• (Optional) Front-end expertise in TypeScript with Angular.

• Proficient in utilizing AI as a tool.

• Capable of end-to-end ownership of projects.
