Senior Java Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

• Design, develop, and implement resilient, scalable software solutions utilizing Java.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs.

• Architect and implement solutions based on microservices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate performance and security challenges.

• Conduct code reviews, recommend enhancements, and uphold coding standards.

• Work alongside software architects to establish standards and best practices.

• Provide support and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.

• Identify areas to integrate AI into products, processes, and internal workflows.

• Ensure adherence to best practices for security, observability, performance, and scalability.

• Disseminate development and software engineering standards.

• Contribute to the growth of engineering maturity, automation, and responsible AI usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Java (Java 8+ / Java 11 or higher).

• Expertise in the Spring Framework ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud).

• Proven experience in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs.

• Advanced understanding of microservices architecture.

• Familiarity with integration patterns and asynchronous communication.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture.

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar).

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis or similar).

• Understanding of data modeling and query optimization.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.

• Knowledge of integration between enterprise systems and external APIs.

• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting in production settings.

• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing.

• Familiarity with Clean Code, SOLID principles, Design Patterns, and Clean Architecture.

• Experience with code review processes and software engineering methodologies.

• Practical experience using AI tools to aid the software development lifecycle.

• Ability to leverage AI for requirements analysis and refinement, solution modeling, code generation and review, test creation and automation, technical documentation, and impact and technical risk assessment.

• Knowledge of integration with generative AI APIs and services.

• Understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG, AI agents, and intelligent automation is an advantage.

• Capability to critically assess AI-generated responses.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Skill in facilitating discussions with business, product, and technology teams.

• Negotiation skills and the ability to manage expectations.

• Capability to comprehend strategic objectives and convert them into technical solutions.
