Senior IT Security Engineer – Security Architecture, Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Enhance monitoring and alerting processes

• Assess security alerts to identify potential threats at an early stage

• Oversee incident response processes and implement necessary measures

• Further refine incident response protocols

• Manage and optimize current security solutions

• Independently evaluate new security technologies regarding security, advantages, and required efforts

• Assist in the integration of new technologies into existing operations

• Strategically advance the security tool landscape and architecture for networks, endpoints, server infrastructure, and cloud environments

• Examine security processes to find automation opportunities

• Utilize modern technologies and evaluate the benefits of AI-based solutions

• Work collaboratively with IT operations, network, cloud and infrastructure teams, data protection, compliance, and external service providers

• Clearly present technical risks and proposed solutions to various target audiences

• Document technical security measures

• Aid in preparing evidence, conducting audits, and generating reports on the current security posture

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of hands-on experience in IT security

• Proficiency in security monitoring, incident management, and modern security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, or NDR

• Knowledge of network, endpoint, and identity security

• Experience with both on-premises and cloud security

• Capability to assess and further develop security architectures and implement them effectively

• Experience in evaluating, implementing, or enhancing security solutions

• Familiarity with Zero Trust, network segmentation, and vulnerability and patch management

• Knowledge of ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, CIS, NIST CSF, or NIS2

• Proficient in German at C1 level

• Proficient in English at B2 level

• Ability to articulate technical risks clearly and confidently advocate for professional positions

• Experience with security solutions from Cisco or Microsoft is an advantage

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are desirable
