Senior IT Project Manager – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee clients' infrastructure and cloud migration projects, which encompass cloud migration strategies, assessments of application cloud suitability/readiness, migration planning, sourcing alternatives, and execution coordination.

• Direct the design, implementation, and transition to new IT infrastructure and cloud (IaaS/PaaS) environments.

• Manage a diverse portfolio of substantial, long-term, and complex projects that may involve multiple business lines.

• Create detailed project plans that include budgetary considerations and resource allocation.

• Collaborate with functional managers for effective project timeline and resource management.

• Handle customer relationship management; engage directly with the customer's IT and executive management.

• Manage change and risk effectively; provide status updates on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, ensuring clear communication across leadership.

• Facilitate a project meeting for every project under your oversight.

• Adjust project budgets as necessary to maintain timeliness and fiscal accountability.

• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a computer or business-related field is mandatory.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.

• At least 2 years of experience in Program and Project Planning, particularly with Cloud Transformation Projects and Programs.

• Solid understanding and experience in project controls, processes, governance, and management.

• Knowledge of broader Cloud adoption and technology enablement (Microsoft, AWS, Public Cloud, etc.).

• Familiarity with transition management, user adoption, and customer success is beneficial for certain projects.

• Professional demeanor with maturity and exceptional customer-facing skills.

• Proven ability to complete projects on schedule and within budget.

• Strong communication, organization, time-management, and leadership capabilities.

• Proficient in project management, collaboration, and time management tools.

• Experience with process improvement; PMP or PRINCE2 Certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of SAP, Unix, Linux, VMware, Citrix, and Azure technologies is a plus.

• Experience with O365 is essential.
