Senior IT Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee IT projects that carry a high to critical level of risk and regulatory oversight.

• Indirectly supervise and/or manage IT Analysts on project-related tasks.

• Engage in the development, maintenance, and updating of IT Project Management standards and procedures.

• Act as a liaison for internal and external stakeholders to identify, document, and determine resource requirements.

• Execute projects utilizing high-level Project Management rigor, including adherence to PMBoK and industry standards.

• Produce supporting project documents in compliance with IT Project Management standards and procedures.

• Guide and influence cross-functional project teams in the management of issues and risks.

• Oversee IT technology initiatives from conception to implementation.

• Manage multiple medium- to long-term projects with minimal supervision.

• Monitor daily project activities.

• Apply traditional waterfall, agile, Scaled Agile, or hybrid project management methodologies.

• Identify and coordinate the mitigation of project risks.

• Identify and facilitate the resolution of project issues.

• Manage and escalate program issues to the IT PMO and IT leadership as necessary.

• Develop and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to IT Program Managers, IT Project Managers, and IT Leadership.

• Monitor and communicate project status to IT Program Managers, IT PMO Manager, IT Leadership, and Bank Leadership.

• Carry out other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of ten years of demonstrated experience as a Project Manager is required.

• Solid understanding of project management best practices, methodologies, and lifecycle.

• Practical knowledge of waterfall and agile project management tools.

• Proven ability to manage oneself professionally, and to indirectly oversee and mentor junior IT PMO resources.

• Strong organizational skills are essential.

• Experience in data management, data mapping, data modeling, and governance.

• Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory requirements.

• Background in Information Technology, with a moderate to high level of proficiency in IT terminology, operations, and functions.

• Capability to work effectively across boundaries with key stakeholders and the leadership team.

• Confidence to challenge opinions with professionalism.

• Collaborative approach with the ability to quickly establish trust and credibility.

• Ability to function effectively within a matrix organization/environment.

• Advanced PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word).

• ITIL Foundations training is required.

• PMP, CSM, and/or SAFE certifications are highly desirable.
