Senior Inventory and Cost Accountant – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, which encompass journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting schedules.

• Prepare and carry out cost accounting tasks, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.

• Oversee inventory accounting procedures, such as balance reviews, aging analysis, and reserve assessments.

• Ensure that inventory accounting practices are in compliance with company policies, including providing support for necessary technical accounting analyses.

• Collaborate with 3PL vendors and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to facilitate data collection for the accounting and reporting of inventory.

• Maintain internal controls and assist with audit requirements by preparing schedules, keeping documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.

• Provide support with revenue accounting activities as necessary, including but not limited to assistance with closing, reconciliations, analytics, and reporting.

• Identify areas for enhancing reporting and automating recurring tasks to boost accuracy and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a comparable field of business administration.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant and progressive experience.

• Experience in commercial therapeutic biotechnology firms.

• Strong understanding of inventory accounting processes, including valuation, physical inventory, manufacturing and costing, along with standard cost accounting conventions.

• Preferred: Experience with Inventory Cost accounting within a NetSuite environment.

• Preferred: Background in public accounting.

• Preferred: Certified public accountant (CPA).
