This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Act as the main People partner for EMEA leadership, starting with our GVP of Sales and engineering management, providing coaching on performance, organizational, and talent-related decisions.
β’ Manage comprehensive employee relations throughout the region, addressing sensitive or cross-border cases and conducting formal investigations β there is no separate ER team, so this responsibility falls to you.
β’ Oversee performance management cycles (quarterly and annually) across various EMEA markets, tailoring the process to local customs while maintaining a consistent standard.
β’ Collaborate with our Compensation Manager on region-specific compensation benchmarking and provide guidance during hiring, promotions, and annual review cycles.
β’ Advise managers on country-specific employment regulations, including works councils, statutory notice periods, collective bargaining, and GDPR β partnering with Legal and external counsel to address jurisdiction-specific risks (redundancy, TUPE, co-determination).
β’ Work closely with our People Ops lead (located in Poland) on onboarding and operational execution, and with our L&D team on leadership development and culture initiatives for the region.
β’ Establish local-market infrastructure as we launch new entities, beginning with the UK and expanding into Germany.
β’ Utilize people data and analytics to identify trends by country and market, converting that information into actionable recommendations for leadership.
β’ Support the broader EMEA footprint (UK, Ireland, and other EU markets, plus India), coordinating with the US-based People team on any APAC-related requirements.
β’ A minimum of 5 years as a People Business Partner or in a similar role is essential, with proven, hands-on experience with multi-country EMEA employee populations β beyond just policy knowledge.
β’ Proficient understanding of employment law across key EMEA markets (UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Netherlands), including works councils and statutory employee representation, is required.
β’ Experience managing employee relations and investigations independently β without relying on a dedicated ER team β is essential.
β’ A background in a startup or rapidly growing technical organization is crucial; this role requires navigating ambiguity and creating processes from the ground up.
β’ Being based in the UK is highly advantageous β most of the EMEA team is located there, making it the anchor market.
β’ Experience working with an Employer of Record (e.g., Remote) is a significant plus.
β’ Ability to operate with genuine autonomy across time zones, demonstrating the judgment necessary to make decisions independently, is a must.
β’ Strong consulting, coaching, and facilitation skills, along with the capacity to build trust quickly with senior stakeholders, are essential.
β’ Willingness to travel throughout the region as required.
β’ Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Enjoy remote work with opportunities for team meetups, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend to cover coworking spaces, phone, and internet expenses.
β’ Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hiring and promotion. Additionally, you have the opportunity to participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!).
β’ 100% Covered Health Insurance: We fully cover your health, vision, and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents with no deductions from your paycheck.
β’ β Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need β to perform at our best, we must recharge and reset.
β’ 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We provide 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the flexibility to use it all at once or spread it throughout your child's first year.
