Senior Inpatient Coding Specialist – Full Time, Days

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for examining and evaluating documentation found in medical records for inpatient, outpatient, and/or professional services to accurately assign diagnoses and procedure codes as dictated by the physician(s) of record.

• Complies with the Standards of Ethical Coding established by the American Health Information Management Association and follows official coding guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Previous coding experience in ICD-10-CM diagnoses/procedure coding and HCPCS/CPT procedure coding in an acute care inpatient, outpatient hospital, or professional services environment.

• Completion of Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) credential within 6 months of employment.

• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding classification systems in an acute care/hospital or professional services context.

• Proficient in using the 3M encoder and the Epic system.
