This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Coding Specialists play a vital role within the CorroHealth Team.
• The Coding Team Member will be responsible for providing CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient Facility Same Day Surgeries.
• Candidates must be capable of working from home and demonstrate independence in their coding abilities.
• This role involves delivering various coding services to support our clients.
• The position requires calculating ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels by employing an algorithm developed by our company.
• It is essential to identify critical care cases based on patient acuity.
• The individual will code surgical procedures typically associated with an ER setting to capture additional revenue when applicable.
• Applying ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the utmost specificity is required.
• Accurate application of diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS is critical.
• Interpreting coding guidelines for precise code assignment is necessary.
• Recognizing the significance of documentation on code assignment and its subsequent impact on reimbursement is important.
• Adherence to AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, along with support for the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Program, is expected.
• Compliance with all internal policies and procedures is mandatory.
• Active participation in training and educational opportunities provided by the Company is required.
• All coders MUST hold certification from either the AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in SDS and OBS is required.
• Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is essential.
• Candidates must possess a working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR, Billing, etc.
• A phone, reliable internet connection, and current coding materials including CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references are necessary.
• Individuals will be expected to maintain an ongoing productivity level and an accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
• Maintaining a quality score of 95% or higher is a requirement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook is essential.
• Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
• The ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines is necessary.
