SDS/OBS/ED Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Reviews documentation to assign diagnoses and surgical CPT procedures for hospital-related claims and data requirements.

• Validates APC calculations.

• Extracts clinical data.

• Addresses diagnosis, EM level, and/or surgical CPT coding-related claims scrubber edits.

• May engage with client personnel and healthcare providers.

• Assigns ICD-10-CM codes, as well as professional or technical EM level and surgical CPT codes, at commercially acceptable production rates while maintaining a consistent quality level of 95% or higher.

• Participates in client and Savista meetings and training sessions as directed by management.

• Keeps up-to-date with the coding conventions applicable to client assignments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid credential from AHIMA (American Health Information Association) or AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders).

• A minimum of one year of pertinent, productive coding experience for the specific patient type being hired, and within the last six months.

• A passing score of 80% on designated pre-employment assessments.

• EPIC/Optum experience is preferred.
