Senior Infrastructure/Platform Engineer – VMware, NetApp

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Administer, manage, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including vCenter, clusters, HA/DRS, and vMotion.

• Oversee and maintain NetApp storage, encompassing ONTAP administration, volume and LUN provisioning, NFS/iSCSI/CIFS, replication, and snapshots.

• Execute larger infrastructure projects and independently resolve intricate technical issues.

• Manage incidents, changes, and service requests efficiently.

• Take responsibility for capacity, performance, patching, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management for both virtualization and storage platforms.

• Conduct backup and restore operations while verifying recovery processes.

• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.

• Participate in the on-call rotation.

• Collaborate directly with client engineers in the Netherlands, including mutual knowledge sharing.

• Establish dependable working relationships with the remote Dutch team and keep stakeholders updated.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure support and project management.

• Extensive hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere / ESXi) in production settings, including upgrades and lifecycle management.

• Practical experience with NetApp ONTAP in production environments.

• Proficient in troubleshooting across compute, storage, and network layers.

• Experience with SAN and Fibre Channel technologies.

• Skills in Linux and Windows system administration.

• Experience with backup and restore operations in a production environment.

• Proficient in scripting for automation using PowerShell or Python.

• Familiarity with ticketing and change management tools such as ServiceNow or equivalent.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Readiness to travel to the Netherlands for onboarding and knowledge sharing.

• Proficiency in English at a C1 level.

• Familiarity with OpenStack or Proxmox, or a genuine eagerness to learn both.

• Knowledge of VMware vSAN or Site Recovery Manager.

• Experience with backup tools such as Veeam.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code using Ansible or Terraform.

• VMware VCP or NetApp NCDA certification.

• Any level of proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
