Senior Infrastructure Capacity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement supply planning strategies.

• Oversee capacity planning from start to finish.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams.

• Interact with vendors and OEM partners.

• Work alongside Procurement to formulate sourcing strategies.

• Partner with Infrastructure Operations and Data Center teams.

• Create and continuously enhance demand forecasting models.

• Establish utilization thresholds and refresh cycles.

• Identify and apply tools, methodologies, and process enhancements.

• Provide data-driven capacity insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure capacity planning, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related field.

• Proven expertise in large-scale compute capacity planning.

• Practical experience in developing demand forecast models.

• Ability to define utilization policies.

• Experience in managing capacity roadmaps across extensive, multi-site production environments.

• Background in hyperscale or SaaS environments.

• Familiarity with compute and network hardware.

• Strong analytical and modeling capabilities.

• Proficiency in tools and techniques for building, validating, and presenting capacity models.

• Established operational credibility.

• Exceptional, executive-ready communication skills.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

• Comprehensive understanding of system performance metrics (CPU, memory, disk, IOPS, network throughput).

• Knowledge of capacity forecasting methodologies and workload modeling.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
